Built in the sixties, updated for right now

The house sits up a quiet road above Shandaken, with the kind of mid-century bones you can't fake: a wood-shingled A-frame roofline, a green-brick hearth, built-in shelving, and a bathtub with a window straight into the trees. We've kept the character and fixed the parts that needed fixing, so you get warm floors, a good shower, and a couch you actually want to sink into after a day on the mountain.

We rent seasonally rather than by the night — 30 days minimum, and we'd rather it go to someone settling in for the full winter season, roughly December through March. Belleayre is ten minutes down the road, with Hunter and Plattekill both within reach if you want to mix it up. Phoenicia is ten minutes the other way for groceries and breakfast, Woodstock is thirty minutes for the afternoon, and Manhattan is about two hours south.
